Main Street Stimulus

The United States Conference of Mayors makes a list and checks it twice…

This is a list of “shovel ready” projects mayors across the country sent in to the feds, all in hopes of getting some of the stimulus money to start, continue, or complete what are generally infrastructure projects.

Homewood got in line for $22 million:

Water and Sewer Infrastructure Rehabilitation: Baxter & Woodman Engineering is finalizing their preliminary engineering study as a first step in making major repairs to our Water and Sanitary systems in a neighborhood that is bound by 183rd and Heather Rd.

Addison got in line for $33 million.

Homer Glen got in line for $7.9 million.

Aurora got in line for $22.6 million.

Bolingbrook, Cicero, Crystal Lake, Elgin, Evanston, Hoffman Estates, Lombard, NBorthbrook, Oak Brook, dozens of villages and cities all over IL.  Heck Woodridge has a $18+million mini version of our stormwater project all laid out, asking for fed money.

Hope Downers Grove gets on that list.  We’ve got plenty of projects in the works we could use funding help for.
